Junior

American singer/songwriter Ian Fisher and French/German producer Fabian Kalker had already met several times whilst working for same projects (latest one: German success adaption of Shakespeares “As you like it” at Münchner Residenztheater ), when they realized: we should stay together. Not only for work, but for music, for passion.

JUNIOR was born.

Complementing each other, Fisher and Kalker quickly created their own specific kind of sound. Catchy melodical tunes and beats combined with Fishers memorable voice and his profound way of singing. Furthermore their music is saturated with literary, musical and cultural allusions. (To Depeche Mode, Joy Division, the Beatles, Erich Fromm or T.S.Eliot - to name just a few) But there’s no pomp in their electro-folk-pop. It’s simplicity and clarity Junior are anxious for. When their debut “self fulfilling prophets” was finally released February 2014 (Pop Up Records/Cargo), it gained a whole bunch of positive reactions almost immediately.

At Live Shows Junior are completed by drummer Phil Rittmannsperger and Ian´s long term companion Ryan Thomas Carpenter, an accomplished pianist/keyboardist.
